’Songs’ is the second album of Spiers and Boden’s staggered double release (‘Tunes’ - released earlier this year), which aims to explore the two sides of the English tradition. ‘Songs’ is the sound of two musicians brimming with confidence and unafraid to explore new territories when it comes to arranging traditional and contemporary songs. The duo uncover some lesser known gems such as ‘Bold Sir Rylas’, whilst adding a favourite from their live set, a unique take on the Tom Waits song, ‘Innocent When you Dream’.
