When they were active, The Gaugers were one Scotland’s finest traditional groups. With the passing of original member Peter Hall, the remaining two members Arthur Watson and Tom Spiers decided to carry on, and by recruiting melodeon player Pete Shepherd, the trio became known as Shepherd, Spiers and Watson. ‘They Smiled As We Cam In’ is their first album together and it highlights their unique talent for representing wonderful songs from the British Isles.
