This is the much anticipated follow up to his debut album “Black Water”. Produced again by John McCusker, ‘Mark The Hard Earth’ was recorded in two main sessions, one in North Berwick with legendary American roots musician Tim O’Brien and bass players Andy Seward and Ewen Vernal, and the second in Yorkshire with (uniquely talented guitarist) Ian Carr ,Donald Shaw, Phil Cunningham, Roy Dodds, plus two of the most popular female artists in folk backing Kris on vocals, Heidi Talbot and Karine Polwart.
