Pete is one of the few professionals on the English scene whose repertoire consists mainly of traditional English songs and ballads. The bulk of his repertoire comes from the south of the country and includes quite a number from his native Kent although he has spent most of his adult life in the Midlands. He occasionally includes a self-penned song and, even more occasionally, one by other contemporary writers.

As a storyteller Pete tells a mixture of traditional stories, tall tales, urban myths and extended jokes. Many of them are about or include music/song.

He can do specific song or story performances but particularly enjoys events where he can mix them up. With Lucy Castle-Hotea they perform a unique mixture of English and Transylvanian songs and music with a few relevant stories and even some dances!

For children's events/schools etc Pete has a specific repertoire of songs, stories, dances, games suitable for most age groups. He can provide 'taster sessions' which give a flavour of the whole folk culture, or concentrate on one aspect in more detail.
