Roy Clinging
Repertoire

Roy plays mainly English concertina but, largely due to the influence of friend and colleague Phil Hare, has now started to introduce the guitar more into his arrangements. He performs ballads and songs from a wide variety of sources, mostly traditionally based, and though some of his material may have a familiar title, he tries hard to find different and interesting versions to keep the listeners on their toes, while not forgetting the value of a good chorus. He has researched into the songs and tunes of his native Cheshire and has an interest in maritime material both of which, along with the occasional song from his work in other spheres, have added a great deal of depth and variation to his repertoire.
