Annie, Karine, Corrina & Elspeth

Annie has been an established musician and singer for more than ten years. She’s in great demand in the folk and roots scene as a live performer and also for her skills in recording, composition, management and touring.  As a founder member of the internationally renowned band Iron Horse, she has recorded six albums, and she’s currently working on her own forthcoming solo debut.  2001 has also seen the beginnings of her theatre career in ‘The Accidental Death Of An Accordionist’, which toured throughout the Highlands and was successfully received at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Annie learned ‘Fause, Fause Hae Ye Been’ from the singing of Rod Paterson on an Easy Club album.  She says she liked the upbeat sentiment, moving from the angry realisation of betrayal to the more resolute optimism which says that true love can be found elsewhere.

As well as singing, Annie plays highland and small pipes, whistle, flute and fiddle.  This instrumental expertise naturally got her drafted for double duty – she’s a big part of the backing band as well.
